My work has delivered critical investments in flood mitigation, stormwater management, road and bridge improvements, water and sewer upgrades, coastal resilience, and port infrastructure. From expanding Port of Miami’s capacity and reducing emissions to replacing aging water systems, improving mobility corridors, and protecting neighborhoods from flooding, these projects are making our communities safer, more resilient, and better prepared for future growth. I remain committed to ensuring South Florida has the modern infrastructure needed to support a strong economy, protect our quality of life, and meet the challenges of the 21st century.
Anti-Socialism
As your representative in Congress, I have been one of the strongest voices in Washington against socialism, communism, and authoritarian regimes. Having witnessed firsthand the devastation these ideologies have caused across Latin America, I have led the fight to defend freedom, democracy, and human rights. I have held congressional hearings exposing the abuses of the Cuban, Maduro, and Ortega regimes, championed sanctions against dictators and their enablers, and fought to keep pressure on those who oppress their own people. I have also spoken out against attacks on free speech and democratic institutions in countries like Brazil and worked to ensure transparency and accountability in elections across the region, including Honduras. From passing legislation to strengthen America's response to authoritarian threats to standing with political prisoners and pro-democracy activists, my commitment is unwavering: defending liberty, confronting tyranny, and ensuring the voices of those fighting for freedom are heard.
Economy & Jobs
As your representative in Congress, I am working to create more opportunities for South Florida families, support local businesses, and keep our economy strong. I have voted to lower taxes, supported efforts to provide greater tax relief for working families, and fought to help small businesses grow and create jobs. I have also worked to recover billions of taxpayer dollars lost to fraud and waste during the pandemic, helping bring greater accountability to government spending and reduce inflationary pressures. In addition, I have secured funding for workforce training programs and hosted five major job fairs, connecting thousands of South Florida residents with employers and helping people find good jobs close to home. My focus is simple: creating opportunity, supporting workers and small businesses, and building a stronger economy for every family in South Florida.
Term Limits
We must get rid of career politicians in both parties that put profits and power above people, and we must set limits on how long public servants can serve in Washington. Our Founding Fathers intended it to be: public service, not a career. Today, Washington is full of career politicians who have lost touch with their constituents, who believe their primary objective is to get re-elected. They enrich themselves and cultivate powerful connections that in turn fund their campaigns.
Affordable Healthcare
As your representative in Congress, I am committed to strengthening our healthcare system and ensuring patients have access to the care they need. I have secured millions of dollars to expand healthcare services, strengthen hospitals, support groundbreaking medical research, and improve access to care for children, seniors, and underserved communities. I have helped expand mental health services for children, supported advances in cancer research and personalized medicine, and worked to ensure families have access to the treatments they need. I also fought to protect and preserve programs that train the next generation of doctors, helping expand the healthcare workforce and improve access to care in communities that need it most. In addition, I have helped seriously ill children receive life-saving medical treatment in Miami and championed policies that put patients and families first. My goal is simple: to improve access to care, strengthen our healthcare system, and help every family live healthier lives.
Protect the Environment
As a proud champion of the Everglades, I am fully committed to securing funding for its restoration and preservation, ensuring this unique ecosystem is protected for generations to come. I am leading the charge to create a National Resilience Strategy, designed to safeguard our coastal communities from the increasing threats of hurricanes, storm surges, and rising sea levels. I’ve secured millions of dollars through Community Funding Projects for Florida’s 27th district to build critical stormwater infrastructure, reduce flooding, and improve water quality in Biscayne Bay. Additionally, I passed legislation to support coral reef restoration, including the transformation of retired Navy ships into artificial reefs, which not only strengthens our marine ecosystems but also boosts local economies and recreational opportunities. From combating harmful algae blooms to advocating for clean water initiatives, my focus remains on protecting our environment and enhancing Florida’s natural resources for a sustainable future.
