Vote-by-Mail

Important Change in Florida’s Vote-by-Mail Law

Florida voters who wish to vote by mail must submit a Vote-by-Mail ballot request. Requests are valid through the next regularly scheduled General Election and must be renewed periodically. Voters without an active request on file may not automatically receive a ballot for upcoming elections.

The next elections in Miami-Dade County are the August 18 Primary Election and the November General Election. Voters who plan to vote by mail should verify that they have an active Vote-by-Mail request on file and submit a request if needed.

Vote-by-Mail requests can be submitted online, by phone, or by email through the Miami-Dade Elections Department.

Don’t Wait Until Election Day

The deadline to request a Vote-by-Mail ballot is 5:00 p.m. on the twelfth day before an election. Submit your request early and allow enough time to receive, complete, and return your ballot.
