“Local government is where results matter most, and I am honored to have the support of these outstanding mayors,” said Congresswoman María Elvira Salazar. “They know firsthand that I listen, I show up, and I fight for every community in FL-27. Whether it is helping municipalities move long-standing priorities forward or making sure residents have a strong voice in Washington, I will always deliver for South Florida.”

Why they are endorsing Rep. Salazar

Mayor Vince Lago of Coral Gables cited Rep. Salazar’s support for smart growth, infrastructure, and economic development.

“She secured federal funding that will help make our Mobility Hub a reality, improving transportation and reducing congestion, while advancing critical infrastructure projects that protect our environment,” said Mayor Lago. “She has also delivered millions in federal investment to the University of Miami, driving innovation, creating jobs, and strengthening one of the most important economic engines in our city.”

Mayor Tim Meerbott of Cutler Bay highlighted Salazar’s work on flooding, resiliency, Everglades restoration, and traffic congestion.

“From Saga Bay to Lakes by the Bay, she has delivered critical federal funding for stormwater infrastructure and Everglades restoration efforts that protect our neighborhoods from flooding, safeguard our water quality, and help reduce flood insurance costs,” said Mayor Meerbott. “She has also secured key investments in Marlin Road improvements that strengthen safety and mobility in our town.”

Mayor Joe Rasco of Key Biscayne praised Salazar’s advocacy for coastal resiliency, Biscayne Bay, and the village’s work with the Army Corps of Engineers.

“She has already secured millions in federal funding for our beautiful island to address flooding and strengthen our resiliency efforts, and she continues fighting to bring critical federal dollars for our important feasibility study to help protect our shoreline from erosion and rising seas,” said Mayor Rasco. “She has also delivered millions in federal investments to help protect Biscayne Bay and has been a vital partner in the Village’s work with the Army Corps of Engineers.”

Mayor Karyn Cunningham of Palmetto Bay pointed to Salazar’s support for Veterans Park, stormwater improvements and exceptional constituent services.

“She has been a true champion for the Village of Parks, securing federal funding for Veterans Park Phase One and continuing to fight for the resources needed to complete Phase Two,” said Mayor Cunningham. “She is also advocating for critical stormwater improvements that will protect our residents from flooding.”

Mayor Joseph M. Corradino of Pinecrest highlighted Salazar’s funding for stormwater and infrastructure needs.

“She has secured millions in federal funding to strengthen our stormwater and infrastructure systems, helping protect our residents from flooding and improving the resilience of our community,” said Mayor Corradino. “She is actively advocating for additional investments, including critical roadway resurfacing and infrastructure upgrades that will further enhance safety and quality of life in our village.”

Mayor Eric Díaz-Padrón of West Miami emphasized Salazar’s support for water infrastructure, drainage, and community spaces.

“She has helped us replace outdated water systems, improve drainage to reduce flooding, and secure a multi-generational center that will serve both our seniors and our children,” said Mayor Díaz-Padrón. “She continues to push for investments in better parks, upgraded recreational spaces, and a new dog park for our families to enjoy.”

Since first being elected, Rep. Salazar has secured more than $89 million for community projects across Florida’s 27th Congressional District and has built a record of fighting for the issues that matter most to local families, seniors, veterans, small businesses, and taxpayers.

With the support of all six mayors in FL-27, Rep. Salazar enters the 2026 election cycle with strong momentum and a clear message: she will continue delivering results for South Florida.
