Here are some of my key accomplishments:
More than $4.5 million secured for seniors: Delivered federal resources for senior-focused projects, including $3.5 million for affordable senior housing in Miami and $1 million for a new Senior Activity Center in West Miami.
Protecting seniors from financial fraud: Seniors are the number one target for financial fraud. I am fighting to crack down on scams that target older Americans and protect the savings they earned through years of hard work.
Supporting family caregivers: Introduced legislation to help family caregivers continue building retirement savings, making sure that caring for a loved one does not come at the expense of their own financial security.
Putting seniors first in Congress: Helped create a permanent committee in Congress dedicated to older Americans, keeping the issues seniors care about most at the forefront, including healthcare access, retirement security, and protection from elder abuse.
Protecting retirement security: Fought for policies that help seniors protect their retirement, preserve their financial independence, and live with dignity after a lifetime of hard work.
Standing against elder abuse: Supported efforts to keep elder abuse and exploitation at the center of congressional action so seniors are protected from mistreatment, fraud, and neglect.
